Things I have learned about DC and east coast living...
1. The Great Harvest Bread is way better in Utah and not worth the money here.
2. Plan to leave your house at least a half hour before you need to get anywhere.
3. Be prepared to just want to sit on your couch after your day is over.
4. There is so much more diversity here than in Utah-surprise-and I am often the minority at the hospital.
5. I have been extremely blessed in my life-more than I deserve.
6. Traffic stinks and brings out the worst in people.
7. Life is better with friends and family.
8. Restaurants are better out here.
9. People work to work in the east while people work to play in the west coast.
10. I hate humidity, but I told myself two days ago that I would stop complaining about it and it hasn't been as humid.
11. The metro smells during the summer.
12. No fall or spring can ever compare to the falls and springs on the east coast.
13. I miss mountains, snow, and skiing.
14. BYU is the best educational institution that has ever existed and no school can ever compare.
15. School is ridiculously expensive and most days I wonder where my money is going.
16. I have met awesome friends who make life so much better.
17. I have decided that I entertain myself quite well when I am by myself.
18. Utah is a bubble.
19. People out here do not know how to drive in the snow, but everything does shut down when snow comes-which is awesome!
20. Storms out here are awesome.
21. They don't have good cinnamon bears out here.
22. Trader Joe's and Panera are awesome.
23. Walking into Cafe Rio and Costco make me feel like I am at home.
24. The Costco's here have a ginormous wine section.
25. There is always something to do and awesome places to visit.

I love this post Sars. You make me miss home. It's been a rough 2 weeks for me too. It always is after leaving home. I miss you! And I'm seriously so proud of you for going on all your adventures!
ReplyDeleteUmm, there are a million ultrasound tech jobs in AUSTIN. Move out with me and let's bring Jayci along!!! I'm feeling the south and now that you agree with how great Texas is, it wouldn't be a party without my girls.
